David Ben-Porat is a Chicago-based composer, producer, and trombonist. He has toured internationally and backed up artists such as Lupe Fiasco (featured on Conan O'Brien) Questlove, De La Soul, Cory Henry, Jazzanova, and has been produced by Robert “Sput” Searight (Kirk Franklin, Snoop Dogg, Snarky Puppy.)

After being a founding and touring member of the legendary band Sidewalk Chalk for 10 years as their trombonist, David began producing and composing music for other solo artists, advertising, sync, and podcasts. He has composed music for many brands including RX Bars and GoPro, and his music has been placed on several shows including Queer Eye, and RuPaul’s Drag Race. 

David’s production style lies primarily in the pop Soul, RnB, and Hip Hop genres, also infusing his love of various world musics. His emphasis on vocals and live horn arranging set him apart, creating his unique and infectious sound.

David is the producer of Albany Park, his duo artist project with acclaimed guitarist Anders Nordstrom (Jonathan McReynolds, Fred Hammond, Tweet, Monica).
